Hello fellow cycling enthusiasts,
Hope things are going well.
The Quad Cities Summer Games (formerly Senior Olympics) two bike races: a 10K time trial on 5/29 and a 15.2-mile road race on 5/30 have been updated on the QCBC calendar. Note that these races are short and intended to include recreational cyclists who may want to try their first races.
Both events have external registration readily accessible from the QCBC calendar. Registration is now open!!!
The Quad Cities Summer Games consists of a bundle of unlimited events, a tee shirt, up to three medals, and a picnic meal at the closing ceremonies - all for $40. In general, those age 40 and over are eligible. Not all of the events are athletic. We have competitions in literary arts, performing arts, and arts & crafts as well.
Check it out at qcsogo.org. It all starts on 5/17/2025 with the pickleball tournament.
In gratitude to the QCBC for its generous contribution, we will offer a bare-bones entry into the bike races for those under 40 years of age. Each race will cost $10. Under-40 competitors will wear different colored bib numbers to distinguish them from over-40 competitors. Still working on the details of these registrations. Updates will be forthcoming via email and Pedalwheeling.
We would also be very grateful for volunteers.
I can be reached by email at jclipa@sbcglobal.net or on my cell at 630-561-9910. Email is best.
Sincerely,
John Lipa
