This year the Bikes for Tykes goal is 150 bike packages. Each child receives a bike, helmet, pump, a lock for larger bikes and a Whitey’s gift card! Approximately half of the bikes will be larger-size bikes for older children. Too many times, these children are skipped over because of the cost.With the focus on larger bikes for older children, the average cost of a bike package is $130. Bikes for Tykes has set a goal to raise $20,000 to provide bikes to our most high-risk Quad Cities children whose families are registered with Toys for Tots.
